Summary: Scheduling while atomic, segfaults after kernel update
                    2.6.10-34.2
           Product: Ubuntu
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: i386
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: major
          Priority: P2
         Component: linux
        AssignedTo: fabbione at ubuntu.com
        ReportedBy: kassetra at gencom.us
         QAContact: kernel-bugs at lists.ubuntu.com

After upgrading to kernel 2.6.10-5-k7 version 2.5.10-34.2, many programs on my
system exhibited random segfaults. Firefox randomly segfaults, I can't keep a
Java program alive for more than a few minutes (sigsegv, also), and VMWare
virtual machines randomly reboot in the middle of using them.

In addition, dmesg shows this error, which seems pretty alarming:
<6>note: hald[7769] exited with preempt_count 1
scheduling while atomic: hald/0x00000001/7769

After downgrading to the original Hoary kernel, all of these problems disappeared.
