Yes, I tried that, and it hosed the system. The suspend worked and so did the
wakeup,
but after about 30 seconds or so the system locked up hard. Again no keyboard input
was recognized and I had to power cycle to force reboot. On reboot errors in the
file system were detected, and the boot bailed out. I had to run fsck to fix the
file system.
This happened again when I tested the suspend a second time. As this behavior did
not sit too well with me, I went back to ACPI at that point.
