I had a similar experience with my HP ze4430us laptop -- I can't get the Ubuntu
provided ndiswrapper driver to work with xsupplicant, but compiling my own
ndiswrapper 1.1 package and dropping in the very same driver works fine. I also
had problems with Ubuntu's ndiswrapper on a Compaq Presario laptop (I don't have
the exact model number), but didn't see if ndiswrapper 1.1 did any better.
I understand Hoary is now very close to release and two or three datapoints
wouldn't make for a good excuse to change what drivers are bundled with the
kernel, but if you would switch to ndiswrapper 1.1 after Hoary releases it'd
make things much easier for me at least.
Thanks.
