Resolved for via-82xx-driven cards after I had received a hint from an Audigy 2
user.

For Audigy 2 cards, flip the Analog/Digital output switch.
For via-82xx-driven cards DISable the "IEC958 Capture Monitor" AND DISable
anything that says "Surround".
