it was working this morning, i ran updates this morning, on reboot it did not work.
my computer runs for weeks on end witrh out reboots, i also update frequently.
I am aware that a bug happened with dhclient3 however, i have the fixed files and the card does not work still,
it is possibly that an earlier package broke it and i never new until now.
killall dhclient
killall dhclient3
ifdown eth0
ifdown eth1
ifconfig eth0 up
dhclient eth0
ifconfig eth1 up
dhclient eth1
mii-diag eth0
mii-diag eth1
modprobe i2c-nforce2
those are the kinda commands i ran, eth0 is the one that fails and is onboard, it is also the one i was using till today.
updateing dhclient3 kicked the second card back into action but not the first. that one now returns the
SIOCGMIIPHY on eth0 failed: operation not supported
errors.
i went through a load of steps with someone on #ubuntu, who then told me to ask in #ubuntu-devel and then i ended up here :p
I would also take a wild guess that it did work unber 2.6.10-4, but it no longer does for some reason, so its a good posibility its another
package.
