Fabio: I tried the 2.6.11-1 hoary kernel and the same error occurs although it
does not cause a hard reboot hang now.
Same goes for the new breezy although this seems at present to have the old kernel.

Will this be fixed for breezy? For me it is a showstopper since much of Ubuntu
management (including patching this bug) requires
a network connection. I can work around it but it is not pleasant.
