Summary: Any user can create immortal processes
           Product: Ubuntu
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: i386
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: linux
        AssignedTo: ben.collins at ubuntu.com
        ReportedBy: walles at mailblocks.com
         QAContact: kernel-bugs at lists.ubuntu.com

johan at transwarp:~$ cat /proc/version
Linux version 2.6.10-5-686 (buildd at terranova) (gcc version 3.3.5 (Debian
1:3.3.5-8ubuntu2)) #1 Fri Sep 23 14:18:02 UTC 2005

I have a program that creates a process that at least I haven't been able to get
rid of without a re-boot. Since it works for any user, it might be possible for
any user to use up all 32000 (?) PIDs in the system (haven't tried it, you try
on your machine if you are interested). The program is zombie, so it doesn't
*do* anything except for using up a PID.

Smack me if I forget to attach it.
