By locked up I mean there is no movement in the terminal window for > 10 minutes
(P4, 2.53 GHz), whereas if I kill it and run the configure from the command line
it proceeds instantly.
I just tried installing a 386 kernel (I use 686 normally), and it didn't happen.
So it may be specific to upgrades, I'll report back next time one comes down the
pipe. I'm reasonably certain the last thing in the terminal when it stops is:
Setting up linux-image-2.6.x-x-686 (2.6.x-x.x) ...
