Summary: Breezy won't recover from hibernation on ThinkPad T42
           Product: Ubuntu
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: i386
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: linux
        AssignedTo: ben.collins at ubuntu.com
        ReportedBy: em36 at columbia.edu
         QAContact: kernel-bugs at lists.ubuntu.com

Hibernation has broken again in RC1 (and a few days earlier). On an IBM ThinkPad
T42, the system correctly goes into hibernation, but can't complete waking from
hibernation. Typically, waking proceeds to the point where pages are read into
memory - and then the system spontaneously reboots. Alternatively (and
unpredictably), the system simply locks up. The message saying the resume=
option needs to be specified sometimes appears, and sometimes doesn't.

For ThinkPad and other laptop users, this is a killer bug - something that makes
Breezy unusable. I very much hope it can be fixed (again) before the final
release. All this worked perfectly in Hoary, and has worked intermittently with
various Breezy upgrades, but is completely broken now.
