Summary: Yukon ethernet card still not recognized
           Product: Ubuntu
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: amd64
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: linux
        AssignedTo: ben.collins at ubuntu.com
        ReportedBy: sam at econ.yorku.ca
         QAContact: kernel-bugs at lists.ubuntu.com

The new (breezy badger : 5.10, final release) live CD still won't work with my
Yukon ethernet card. It's an onboard Marvell 88E8001 gigabit ethernet controller
(onboard on the ASUS A8V Deluxe motherboard). It's not detected at boot-up by
the live CD (either Ubuntu or Kubuntu ; either AMD64 or i386), and I can't
enable it from the network settings box (either in gnome or in kde). So I think
that it's that ongoing problem with the sk98lin module (or its open-source
replacement) in the 2.6.12 kernel of breezy badger).

This ethernet connection was not detected out of the box by Libranet 3.0 either
(2.6.11) kernel, but they were able to provide a patch. It worked right out of
the box with Kanotix 2005-03's customized 2.6.11 kernel.
