Well, if the file system was corrupted, there is not much we could do about it
in the distro itself.

Does merely removing the himd folder work? Or are other parts of the file system
affected as well? Really, reformatting seems to be the cleanest solution.

That would mean that it is a bug in Ubuntu in the first place, which does not
seem to be the case.
