If you can read and write the VFAT partition in a normal way under Windows, but
not under Linux, then it would be a Linux bug, right. That just didn't seem to
be the case in the first couple of comments.

Do you use the normal Windows mechanisms for storing files, or do you use a
special program/driver for it?
