Summary: Dazuko and Capability conflict in Ubuntu Breezy.
Product: Ubuntu
Version: unspecified
Platform: i386
URL: http://www.dazuko.org
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: linux
AssignedTo: ben.collins at ubuntu.com
ReportedBy: topsoil at mail.com
QAContact: kernel-bugs at lists.ubuntu.com
I cannot get dazuko to load in Ubuntu Breezy. It compiles and installs fine, but upon bootup i
get this message:
dazuko: failed to register
I looked into the faq (http://www.dazuko.org/tload.shtml#NO-STACKING) and followed what it says
(rmmod capability, then load dazuko, and capablility again). That works. But how do i get this
to work with Ubuntu at boottime? It appears to me that capability is loaded right away when
Ubuntu is booting up, hence dazuko doesn't get a chance. I tried putting in dazuko in /etc/
modules in the beginning, but capability still loads first. Heck, even after taking out
capability from /etc/modules, it still loads up first! I think its a Ubuntu kernel problem,
since a few days i had tried using a vanilla kernel from kernel.org, and dazuko worked fine
with that.
I did find this thread on the Ubuntu forums for a workaround:
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=78794&page=2
Haven't tried it, but is that the only way? There should be a better way, since dazuko
supports stacking.
I am using this kernel on Breezy (just did apt-get install linux-686, did not customize or such
):
Linux ubuntu 2.6.12-9-686
Thanks.
