Breezy kernels are missing the libata passthru functionality that was present in
Hoary.  this is needed for proper laptop-mode support, as well as for S.M.A.R.T.
(smartmontools) and hdparm.

Latest passthrough patch available from Jeff Garzik's GIT repository.  A recent
snapshop is at http://rtr.ca/dell_i9300/kernels/2.6.1[23]/
