Public bug reported:

Affects: linux-source-2.6.15 base-installer (Ubuntu)
       Severity: Normal
       Priority: (none set)
     Assignee: Ben Collins
         Status: Unconfirmed

Description:
Trying to install flight-5 (problem occured on prvious versions too).
The step where network interfaces should be detected doesn't work for
me.

Here is what I get on breezy, where the eth0 nic is detected on setup
and the ra0 was installed manually:

0000:02:06.0 Network controller: RaLink Ralink RT2500 802.11 Cardbus Reference Card (rev 01)
0000:02:07.0 FireWire (IEEE 1394): VIA Technologies, Inc. IEEE 1394 Host Controller (rev 80)
0000:02:08.0 Ethernet controller: Marvell Technology Group Ltd. Yukon Gigabit Ethernet 10/100/1000Base-T Adapter (rev 13)

--> everything works fine on breezy.

However during setup of dapper flight-5 it loads the floppy module (in
the step where the nic should be detected) and then displays no nic
found but firewire. Then I'm asked if I want to configure the firewire
port for ethernet.

Installing the module manually works. But why isn't the onboard ethernet
controller detected?
