After today's upgrade the problem seems to be gone away. Could this be related to the gstreamer0.10-alsa upgrade from version 0.10.5-0ubuntu3 to version 0.10.6-0ubuntu1? -- Audio problem on iBook G4 https://launchpad.net/bugs/41963
