WHen i booted into Rescue Mode through GRUB and waited for everything to
finish loading....at the first prompt i pressed a key and this message
appeared followed by a new line and a flashing cursor waiting for a
prompt...

[17179618.364000] input: AT Translated Set 2 keyboard as /class/input2

Then everything i pressed after that showed up on the screen.
