[Bug 75817] Sound broken after this update.

Hi,

I loaded the updates this morning, and one was the linux-image-2.6
15-27-686.  Upon rebooting, I have no sound on my Dell D600 laptop.  It
uses this Intel audio device:

82801DB/DBL/DBM (ICH4/ICH4-L/ICH4-M) AC'97 Audio Controller

I reboot into the old kernel ( vmlinuz-2.6.15-26-686) and sound works
fine again.  I tried this twice to verify that the new kernel image
caused the problem.

If anyone knows, I would like to know where we find out exactly what is
changed with updates like this.  Perhaps the Software Update utility
could tell us.  I would be nice to know before one installs them, and of
course when problems occur.
