Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: linux-source-2.6.15
Having updated my Ubuntu 6.06.1 kernel from version 2.6.15-27-amd64-generic to 2.6.15-27.50-amd64-generic on my ASUS A6KM laptop with a BCM4318 Broadcom Wi-Fi nic, I got problems with the computer was hanging in the boot process, when it loaded the driver for my Wi-Fi nic trough the ndiswrapper. I also have problems when I shutdown the computer; the screen goes black and the computer does not switch-off. I have been looking into the ndiewrapper problem and found out, when the ndiswrapper script call lsusb, this command hang, this is also confirmed when I execute the lsusb command alone.
An other new behaviour is; if I boot with my USB mouse it is detected, if I plug it in later it is not.
I do not know if it is related to bug #36583.
These behaviours was not present in the old kernel.
** Affects: linux-source-2.6.15 (Ubuntu)
Importance: Undecided
Status: Unconfirmed
