Public bug reported:

When using Ubuntu 6.06 LTS with all the latest updates added on a Compaq
Armada M700 notebook with an Edimax EW-7108PCg PCMCIA card inserted,
Ubuntu crashes completely when trying to configure the wireless network
card using "Network Settings". The cursor simply stops responding and
the only option is to remove the power and battery to kill the machine.

Also, the network settings do not allow WPA encryption which is very
poor.

Please DO NOT suggest adding drivers or building files and adding to the
kernel with makefile, etc. I am NOT interested in this approach. I want
an EASY TO USE system without the need to understand anything more than
clicking an icon to install drivers or software!

** Affects: linux-source-2.6.15 (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Medium
         Status: Needs Info
