Adam: Are you having exactly the same problem (including the weird
output) as the original reporter, or just a similar problem? If it's
just "my kernel can't find the root fs", but the output is different,
you almost certainly have a different bug, and should file it as so.
To the original submitter: I see no way this can actually happen with
the packages we ship in breezy, since nothing in the initramfs tries to
(for instance) copy libklibc on boot, despite your log obviously showing
such an attempt.
Again, I'd love both a copy of your broken initrd and a tarball of
/usr/share/initramfs-tools (and /etc/mkinitramfs too).
To anyone else commenting on this bug: Unless your error messages are
identical to the submitter's, PLEASE open new bugs. There are 1001
reasons why we could be failing to find your root filesystem, and I
doubt anyone else is suffering from this one. :)
