Public bug reported:
https://launchpad.net/malone/bugs/32812
Affects: linux-source-2.6.12 kernel-image-2.6.12-10-386-di (Ubuntu)
Severity: Normal
Priority: (none set)
Status: Unconfirmed
Description:
After I upgrade the kernel to
linux-image-2.6.12-10-686 2.6.12-10.28
from ubuntu upgrade, my external usb2 harddrive always disconnects after mounted for some time. This seldom happened when I was using the previous kernel.
I am using kde (Kubuntu). The drive is mounted by click the icon on the
desktop. After some time, the drive will automaticly disconnects
(unmounted and dispear in /dev). If the drive is truned off and turned
on again, the device name will change. (sda -> sdb -> sdc...)
