I have to chime in on this as well.  It seems that the hardware
configurations that will trigger this bug (any dual-head config using
more than one greaphics card, as I understand) is not uncommon.  As
Dapper is the LTS release, it seems this is not a bug that should be
left to bite users for the next five years!
