[Bug 23445] Re: iMac G5 will freeze after booting up

1. This bug has been around for some months. Has never been fixed.
2. The newest kernel stable kernel as of this writing: 2.6.17.6 has correct thermal support but no working sound. Upon boot dmesg says snd: unknown layout  0x53.

I am not running Ubuntu at all but i'm having these issues for months
and no fix had ever been applied to my knowledge. On the Ubuntu forums,
YellowDog forums, Fedora and Gentoo forums all people have the same
problems. I posted in different bugs on launcpad but some of them were
deleted? After months it's still not fixed how long will this take? Or
will this post sit here for months again with a single fix?
