hi Gary.
Sorry but I'm not going to write a step by step guide because it is not so easy for everyone to apply the fix and you can broke your system. In my case a big help came to me from my ibook G4 1.33 (dapper installed on it months ago without any symptom of the present bug) on which I recompiled the kernels I tried. Besides as Ben Collins said the kernel will be upgraded soon and so the disc images making them availaible to all.
So be patient, just wait.
