Did you try it against the Xorg sources that you can download for Dapper
6.06?  Or did you download the X.org CVS HEAD version from
freedesktop.org?  The patch will only work against HEAD - instructions
on getting and installing are here

I'm also running Dapper and am downloading HEAD now - will *try* to get
time to get it built and keep everyone posted of the results.
