hmm, maybe nvidia? That's always a good scapegoat for inexplicable phenomena ;-) Also, I seem to remember someone reporting the bug wouldn't show up if X wasn't started. I cannot find that report right now, though.
I'm using the nvidia-legacy kernel module, but haven't tried without it yet. I'm will change my config to use x.org's nv driver and see if I can shutdown properly. Is there anyone _not_ using ipw2200 or a nvidia card experiencing this bug?
