Yes, it will hopefully allow it to boot cleanly like with acpi=off, but
without the side-affects of missing a lot of ACPI functionality
elsewhere.

Did it in fact fix the problem? I realize that it will report the
unknown boot option, but it should apply to the libata module when it
gets loaded.
