Sorry, but this really sounds like a problem with your router. The
wireless card/driver cannot control what the router will let connect to
it, and it surely cannot cause it to crash unless there is a bug in the
router (else people would be crashing routers all over the metro
hotspots).

I'm going to reject this unless you can provide some substantial proof
that the connection problem is caused by the driver and not the router
(I wont even consider the router crashing to be a bug that I or anyone
with Ubuntu can fix).
