Public bug reported:
I have a Toshiba Satellite laptop. Recently upgraded from Breezy to
Dapper. I use a USB keyboard as laptop keyboard has a few broken keys.
No problems when on Breezy and even the multimedia buttons worked.
Following upgrade to Dapper, keyboard works up to and including the Grub
menu. It stops working once I get to the login screen. Looking through
the various system logs, as soon as the USB keyboard is detected and
installation attempted, the kernel continuously generates the same error
messages (drivers/usb/input/hid-core.c: input irq status -32 received).
end result is >630Mb system logs.
More details are posted here:

The problem is a similar to this previous bug, but in my case, it occurs at boot up rather than hibernate/resume:

** Affects: linux-source-2.6.15 (Ubuntu)
Importance: Untriaged
