Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: ndiswrapper-utils
I've just finished installing Kubuntu Dapper on my laptop. I connect to
the internet through my wireless card, which unfortunately isn't
supported under linux. So, that means that after the install I have to
setup the wireless card through ndiswrapper.
Unfortunately in Dapper the ndiswrapper-utils package isn't available in
the install CD. So that means that if I want to connect my recently
installed system to the internet then I have to install a package which
is only available through the internet. That poses a bit of a problem.
So, if the ndiswrapper utility was available from the CD, then it would
be possible to have an internet connection after the first reboot. Due
to the fact that the package isn't available, the user will have to do a
bit of magic just to setup his non-supported card.
** Affects: ndiswrapper (Ubuntu)
Importance: Untriaged
Status: Unconfirmed
