Same problem here also on an EPIA 800 with the server install cd. I've only tried the non-LAMP server option. The text install on the alternate CD worked for me. I assumed I had a botched ISO, but the MD5's match. -- Ubuntu server kernel will not boot. https://launchpad.net/bugs/48266
