I'm getting the hardlock to manifest itself when using supertux, even
with --sdl option.  Typically, I get a hard lock after 1-3 starts of
supertux.  Previously this laptop was running FC5 and we never saw the
hardlock issue.

I have not implemented any of the workarounds in this thread yet, but I
did try Paul's unofficial deb, and still got the hard lock.
