Public bug reported:
https://launchpad.net/malone/bugs/34022

Affects: linux-source-2.6.15 (Ubuntu)
       Severity: Normal
       Priority: (none set)
         Status: Unconfirmed

Description:
All of a sudden, the via-rhine module seems to fail to load with an
error '-5'. Why this started happening is a total mystery. If I remove
the module and insmod it again, the output I get in 'dmesg' is:

[4295602.348000] via-rhine.c:v1.10-LK1.2.0-2.6 June-10-2004 Written by Donald Becker
[4295602.348000] ACPI: PCI Interrupt 0000:01:07.0[A] -> Link [APC4] -> GSI 19 (level, high) -> IRQ 209
[4295602.358000] Invalid MAC address
[4295602.358000] via-rhine: probe of 0000:01:07.0 failed with error -5

Now, the really odd things - the upgrade this morning upgraded the
kernel to the -17 version (from the -16), and now it fails with both
kernels. The only other thing I have done on this machine today is to
reboot with 'disable_timer_pin_1' to try and see if that fixed a fast
clock problem (the bootup failed at the splash screen).
