[Bug 34468] No irda on Compal CL56 laptop

Description:
The irda device on my Compal CL56 laptop is not working without manual
configuration. It can be made to work as follows:

$ sudo modprobe irda
$ sudo modprobe irtty_sir
$ sudo apt-get install irda-utils
$ sudo irattach /dev/ttyS0

After a reboot (don't know why that is required) my infrared phone now
shows up in /proc/net/irda/discovery:

$ cat /proc/net/irda/discovery
 IrLMP: Discovery log:

 nickname: SIEMENS S55, hint: 0xb124, saddr: 0x7ca35c24, daddr:
0x0000001d
