[Bug 36128] Latest kernel upgrade doesn't boot on Acer Travelmate 8000

A friend of mine just told me he succeeded in booting the affected
kernel. However, a difference is that he didn't select the LVM option
when installing Dapper. So he has a /dev/hda1 and a /dev/hda2. I have a
/dev/hda1 on /boot and /dev/hda2 on LVM which splits in /dev/Ubuntu/root
and /dev/Ubuntu/swap or something like that.

So this might not be a kernel, but a LVM bug. But I'm not planning to
spoil your fun of having to debug this. So that's all the info I will
give you! ;-)
