Public bug reported:
https://launchpad.net/malone/bugs/36791
Affects: linux-source-2.6.15 (Ubuntu)
Severity: Normal
Priority: (none set)
Status: Unconfirmed
Description:
The installer detects my laptop's wireless adapter but seems unable to
turn it on, find an access point, or get an address. Once Dapper is
installed, the command "iwconfig eth0 txpower on" returns:
Error for wireless request 'Set Tx Power' (8B27) :
GET failed on device eth0 : No such device.
"iwconfig eth0 power on" returns:
Error for wireless request 'Set Power Management' (8B2D) :
GET failed on device eth0 : Operation not supported.
If I use the KDE-based system administration panel, the adapter shows as
Disabled. If I click the "Enable device" button, the listing briefly
changes to "Enabled" but changes back to "Disabled" in about 1 second.
I was able to make this adapter work under Breezy with the use of
ndiswrapper and the HP windows drivers.
Computer is an HP Pavilion ze4560us.
