Hello,

I tried to compile kernel version 2.6.16 from kernel.org, using make-
kpkg on ubuntu breezy (9.001ubuntu5), but it shows wrong arch ppc
instead of powerpc.

I installed package from ubuntu dapper (9.001ubuntu15) but it has the
same problem.

Override with --arch=powerpc does not work:

Arch powerpc instead of ppc was fixed in mainstream kernel-package (>
10.026), as indicated in bug reports #340629 and #342767.
