Not exactly. From the config files

    /boot/config-2.6.12-9-386
         # CONFIG_EDD is not set

    /boot/config-2.6.15-19-386
         CONFIG_EDD=m

How does one prevent the kernel from loading this module? Passing a parameter did not help.
