[Bug 37287] No sound on Inspiron 9400 with Dapper

Description:
Just installed Dapper Flight 5 (with latest updates) on a Dell Inspiron
9400, and there is no sound.

It appears to discover all the information, install the drivers etc.,
however, no sound comes out. I tried all the possible sound systems
(alsa, esd, etc.), none work. Also, the microphone reads nothing as
well.

I'll provide all the necessary configuration output on request.
