[Bug 41255] Audigy 1 has no capture dialog / or channels to record from in the alsa mixer

Public bug reported:

Audigy 1 has no capture dialog / or channels to record from in the alsa
mixer.

with my onboard sound card i can choose from which channel i want to
record from, but not with my audigy.

my audigy has just one channel to record from not even the line in, it's
the mic input...

further more i have an
aux in
line in 2
spdif inoptical in ....
and none of it can be used to record from ...

Note: the original reporter indicated the bug was in package 'alsa';
however, that package was not published in Ubuntu.
