[Bug 64878] Installer/Live CD fails to boot with ACPI enabled

Public bug reported:

When i am trying to boot a 64bit AMD system the installer stops on the
following text, and will only continune once i:

1) remove splash, and silent
2) adds acpi=off


The last console lines say: "

[ 30.173892] vga16fb: initializing
[ 30.173920] vga16gb: mapped to 0xffff8100000a0000
[ 30.274656] Console: switching to colour frame buffer device 80x25
[ 30.278659] fb0: VGA16 VGA frame buffer device"


After that, nothing.

Hardware info:
CPU: FX-62 dualcore
Memory: 4GB
Display: Radeon X1900 GT
