[Bug 42718] Sound capture on Thinkpad T20, T21, T22 not working

Public bug reported:

Sound works ok, but capture from the mic will not, even though I can
hear sound from the mic in the internal speakers. I have tried the gnome
sound recorder and Audacity to capture, and none work (sound recorder
even hangs when I try to record).
