After disabling GDM and booting into text mode the mouseemu process was
still present and running at full CPU. The fans wound up to full again
and did not go away even several minutes after killing the mouseemu
process.
The following messages are printed to the terminal before the text login
appears:
FATAL: Error inserting therm_pm72 (/lib/modules/2.6.20-9-powerpc64-smp/kernel/drivers/macintosh/therm_pm72.ko): No such device
FATAL: Error inserting windfarm_pm112 (/lib/modules/2.6.20-9-powerpc64-smp/kernel/drivers/macintosh/windfarm_pm112.ko): No such device

FATAL: Error inserting windfarm_pm91 (/lib/modules/2.6.20-9-powerpc64-smp/kernel/drivers/macintosh/windfarm_pm91.ko): No such device
bcm43xx: Microcode bcm43xx_microcode5.fw not available or load failed.
I have also attached an archive (logs.tar.gz) of a few logs from
/var/log.
