[Bug 108689] ndiswrapper status report problems with rt2500 under feisty and connection issues

Public bug reported:

With a feisty freshinstall, after installing ndiswrapper and with the
the rt2500 windows driver (with success), and blacklisting the kernel's
rt2500, I get:

ari at aris:~$ ndiswrapper -v
utils version: 1.9
driver version: 1.38
vermagic: 2.6.20-15-generic SMP mod_unload 586
ari at aris:~$ ndiswrapper -l
rt2500 : driver installed
device (1814:0201) present (alternate driver: rt2500)

In ndiswrapper wiki, it is explained that this means that ndiswrapper
has detected another driver using the device, and recommends rmmod, in
my case this is the output:

rmmod rt2500
ERROR: Module rt2500 does not exist in /proc/modules

Also, after a few minutes of use (the card actually connects to the
access point), performance degrades: pings from the pc to the router
take from 2000 to 4000 msecs (?!!!) Not sure if this is related to this
report or not.

Finally, I compiled and installed ndiswrapper 1.42. The performance problem seems gone (not sure yet, touch wood), but the "alternate driver" report is still there.

Thanks
