Public bug reported:

I am using ndiswrapper in Feisty to install the driver for Engenius EUB-862 (Atheros ar5523 chipset) and I got it connected to a WPA network using Wicd. However if I restart the adapter will not be available in XP and Feisty, however if I disconnect and reconnect it again it will work in XP, but in Feisty the system will freeze. If I shutdown the system before power it up again all will be right. Looks like ndiswrapper did not terminate/release the adapter properly when the system is restarted.
Although it works alright there is still a small glitch. The adapter will not be available when the computer is restarted but if I shut it down before starting again it works ok.
The adapter light will still blink but will not be detected by any OS (not working either in Feisty or XP), but in XP I can disconnect it and reconnect back and it works, but in Feisty if I disconnect it Feisty will freeze. How do I disable it before disconnecting it?

** Affects: ndiswrapper (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: Unconfirmed
