- When trying to load a large (5GB) sql file into mysql, mysql errors out,
- segfaults, or the entire system locks up hard.
+ md5sum returns inconsistent results when run repeatedly on a large text
+ file stored on a linux software (md) raid1 volume.
  
- In the error or segfault case, examining the input file at the location
- where mysql crashed reveals corruption that wasn't present before trying
- to load into mysql.

- Rebooting the system seems to remove the corruption.  The corruption
- doesn't appear unless mysql attempts to load the file.  The file is set
- to read-only.

  This is happening on a dual dual-core opteron system with 8GB
- registered/ecc memory running up-to-date LTS.  It also happens on
- another nearly identical system running up-to-date LTS.  Both can run
- memtest with no errors (the first ran for almost 70 passes before I
- stopped it).

- It does not happen on a third nearly identical system which is running
- out-of-date Breezy Badger (w/64 bit kernel).
