T7300 (2.0 Ghz) on a new Sony Vaio VGN-FZ180E.

Core 2 Duo is 64 bit. It appears to be something specific to Ubuntu. The
64 bit flavors from other Distro's seem to run without issue. I'm
replying from the 64 bit Mandriva distro as I type.
