Not to prior extent, no. I tested this with a few old cd-r's and dvd's. Two first cd's unmounted fine, the third wouldn't unmount first, but could be unmounted without using cli. Error message was "umount: /media/cdrom0 : device is busy 
eject: target "/media/cdrom0" unmounting failed ". This could be due to bad media, attached new kern.log and var_messages.
