Okay I removed the splash from the menu.lst and now it shows this error [ 31.787344] Kernel panic - not syncing: VFS:Unable to mount root fs on unknown - block(0,0) [ 31.787371] -- default kernel doesn't load. only recovery works https://launchpad.net/bugs/86676
